Kaydee grew up in Lockport, NY, a small town on the Erie Canal (last locks before Buffalo!), before moving to Sacramento, CA in seventh grade. She and her collection of elephant figurines (100+) have lived in Northern California ever since.

She fell in love with sci-fi/fantasy reading Clarke, Herbert, and Asimov, and watching Battlestar Galactica, Falling Skies, and Firefly. The genre continues to be her favorite, both in literature and film.

Kaydee has received several awards for her poetry and short stories, including an Honorable Mention from Writer’s Digest for her short story “Barbara.” This is her first novel.
